Who runs this site

howdoimakemyproduct.com is operated by Liam Dewhurst, a sole-trader product consultant based in Hamilton, New Zealand. The site is a product under the dewhurst.dev parent brand. Contact: liamdewhurst@gmail.com.

What we collect & why

• Brief content

  Project type, slider settings, competitor URLs, your "twist" text, and the AI-generated brief itself. Sent to Anthropic's API to generate the brief, and emailed to Liam (and to the address you enter) when you choose to download the PDF.

• Your email address

  Only collected if you choose to download the PDF. Used to email you a copy of the brief and to follow up about your project if relevant. No newsletters unless you specifically opt in. No third-party sharing.

• Booking context auto-forward

  If you book a consulting session via the Cal.com popup, any brief you've generated in this browser will be forwarded to Liam at the moment of booking — alongside the name and email you enter into Cal — so he walks into the session with full context. If you haven't generated either, nothing extra is sent. You can clear this data at any time by clearing site storage in your browser, or by emailing for deletion (see below).

• Standard server logs

  Cloudflare (the host) keeps short-lived request logs for security and uptime — IP address, user agent, timestamps. Standard practice for any website. We don't analyse or sell these.

Sub-processors we rely on

The site is built on services that handle parts of the request on our behalf:

• Cloudflare Workers — hosting and request routing.
• Anthropic (Claude API) — generates the brief content from your inputs. Anthropic does not train on API content by default.
• Web3Forms— forwards the brief email + your address to Liam's mailbox. They do not retain submissions long-term.
• Cal.com — handles consulting bookings if you book a session.

Your rights — including deletion

You can ask for a copy of what we hold on you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted at any time. Email liamdewhurst@gmail.com with "privacy" in the subject. We aim to respond within 7 days.

You can also clear the local data the site stores in your browser by clearing your site data in your browser settings (Application → Storage in most dev tools). That removes saved tool state without affecting any email already sent.

Legal basis & jurisdiction

We process your data under the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020. If you're in the EU/UK, our basis for processing your email and brief content is your consent (the checkbox on the download modal) plus our legitimate interest in following up with people who've asked us about their project. You can withdraw consent at any time by emailing the address above.

If we ever materially change this notice, we'll update the date at the top and (if you've given us your email) email you about it before the change takes effect.
